In early 2025, DIMO had a basic Developer Console that enabled business and individual developers to create applications and access vehicle data.
As the team looked to expand the application's functionality, simplify essential workflows, and align the platform with a new brand identity, they identified the need to conduct a holistic redesign of the platform.
I started by conducting an audit of the existing Developer Console, identifying key functionality and workflows while reviewing the new functionality identified in the provided scope of work.
I honed in on gaining an understanding the more complex workflows including the wallet/credit purchasing system as well as the developer license and API authentication flows.

Once the requirements were clear, I set out to design the determined flows, replacing the existing pages, and adding new functionality as needed.
I created an organized Figma file which made it easy for collaborators to review the work and provide feedback on the layout and visuals.

Given the complexities of the Developer Console flows and requirements, it was essential to gather feedback from development partners to understand the exact expectations of the experience.
As I built out the key flows, I was in frequent communication with the team to ensure that my designs were both feasible and in line with the team's expectations.

As a core tenant of the design, I created a set of simple, reusable components that could be easily handed off to their internal designers and scale to future work on the Developer Console.

This was a complex project with a tight deadline. I was able to deliver the identified scope within the projected timeframe, and hand-off to the developers to begin building immediately. Within one month of delivering the designs, the redesigned application was live.
Throughout the process, DIMO's internal team was excited about the direction, and expressed their satisfaction with the results. DIMO's CEO even shared that he was impressed with the quality of the work.
